IT’S AN ELECTION YEAR

In addition to this being a Presidential election year, the District will have 3 Board seats up for election on November 5; two seats are full-terms (4 years), and one is half-term (2 years).

For those interested in running for a seat, the Contra Costa Elections Division will be your point of contact.

The filing period is July 15 through August 9 and paperwork will be available at the Contra Costa Elections Division in Martinez. Visit the County website and click on November 5, 2024 General Election Candidate Filing; and/or refer to the Candidate's Guide for detailed information below.

Qualifications

The Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen,
be a registered voter of the District at the time the Declaration of Candidacy is issued, and
not have been convicted of a felony involving accepting or giving, or offering to give, any bribe, the embezzlement of public money, extortion or theft of public money, perjury, or conspiracy to commit any of those crimes.
